The contributions of individuals, community organizations, and businesses are essential to keep the doors open at Early Childhood. Here are some things you may want to know. For more information, please call the Executive Director at 510.412.9200 or email her at amerritt@ecmhp.org.
When you send us a donation this is what we will do
We will send you a warm thank you letter and a tax receipt. Donations to Early Childhood are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Federal Tax Code. (Prospective donors may request copies of the agency's federal and state tax exemption letters.)
This is what we will not do
- We will not send you address labels or any other premium.
- We will not sell or trade your name. We do not buy or sell mailing lists or employ commercial fund raising services.
- We will not use your money to raise more money from you. Our fundraising expense (for printing, postage, and clerical help) is low and is donated by our Board members.
This is what we will do at your request
- We will send you information about our agency.
- We will send you a copy of our current Federal and State Tax Forms (the 990 and the 199) or show these forms to you if you come into the office. (You have a right to receive these forms from any tax-exempt agency. They are also available on the internet.)
- We will show you our Family Center if you call to arrange a visit (but we will not tell you the names of any children or families you happen to see here).
This is what you may wish to do to help us (We will be grateful)
- Invite us to speak at your service club or social group so that everyone can know about the work that is done here. Your club might want to hold a fundraiser for us.
- Ask your employer to invite us to participate in your workplace charitable campaign.
- Call before giving us material goods. It is expensive to dispose of items we cannot use. We cannot use appliances or cars to resell.
